Sipana Tchakerian is a PhD in archaeology and a pensionnaire (resident researcher) at the National Institute of Art History (INHA) in the section ‘Art history from the fourth to the fifteenth century’. She specializes in Armenian and Georgian medieval architecture and monumental art, with a particular interest for the cult of the cross and pilgrimage. Her doctoral thesis, completed at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and Aix-Marseille University, is dedicated to a type of monumental sculpted cross specific to medieval Armenia and Georgia, the cross-bearing four-sided stelae. After her defense in September 2022, she started working at the INHA where she is currently leading a research project about the archives of Nicole and Jean-Michel Thierry, in collaboration with the Library and Resources Department. 

Within the Callfront project, Sipana Tchakerian coordinates the organization of scientific events at the INHA.
